Builder Hall 8 Guide: Battle Copter and Mega Tesla

Geschreven door , Developer and editor at Cockit

Laatst gecontroleerd op · Reflects Builder Base 2.0 (May 2023 update, Builder Hall 10 is the highest level) plus the May 2026 addition of B.O.T.O's Shack; BH8 unlocks checked against the Clash of Clans Wiki on 2026-10-12.

What changes at Builder Hall 8

The Battle Copter costs 2,500,000 Builder Elixir and is built at level 15, which counts as 15 levels toward later requirements. It is a flying Hero that bombs buildings from range. Its Bomb Rush ability heals it and sends it forward to drop a bomb at close range, with a larger splash at higher charge levels. Like the Battle Machine, it never defends. At BH8 the Copter can reach level 25 and the Battle Machine level 25.

The Mega Tesla hits one target hard and then arcs to a second target up to 3 tiles away for 60% of the damage. It fires slowly, so it is best against a few strong troops such as Baby Dragons, Cannon Carts and Heroes, and weaker against swarms. You also get a third Double Cannon, a fourth Firecrackers, a third Gold Mine and Elixir Collector, more traps and 160 Walls. Total defenses reach 24 with the same 13 per stage.

The Builder Barracks reaches level 10 for the Power P.E.K.K.A, a heavy melee troop, and the Multi Mortar can reach level 8, which is what the Master Builder needs to gear up a Home Village Mortar of level 8 or higher (Town Hall 10). Star Laboratory 8 lets troops reach level 16, and the Healing Hut can reach level 4, healing survivors by 16% between stages. The upgrade to BH8 costs 2,800,000 Builder Gold and takes 5 days.

Upgrade priority

Both Heroes and the Healing Hut use Builder Elixir, as do the Star Laboratory and Army Camps, so Builder Elixir sets your pace from here. Defenses use Builder Gold, which lets your two builders split the work between both resources.

  1. Build the Battle Copter. Starting at level 15 makes it useful right away.
  2. Star Laboratory to level 8 and your main troops.
  3. Battle Machine and Battle Copter toward 25, one builder on a Hero whenever Builder Elixir allows.
  4. Mega Tesla, then the Roaster and Crushers.
  5. Multi Mortar to level 8 if you want to gear up a Home Village Mortar.
  6. Healing Hut to level 4 and Builder Barracks to level 10 if you plan to use Power P.E.K.K.As.
  7. Storages for the 3,800,000 Builder Gold BH9 costs, then traps, Walls and the remaining defenses.

How to choose a base at BH8

The Mega Tesla needs protection from swarms. Put it next to splash defenses such as the Roaster or a Crusher, and add a Mega Mine nearby, so Raged Barbarians or Night Witch Bats cannot overwhelm it. In stage one it is a strong answer to Battle Copter and Baby Dragon attacks; in stage two it punishes the few strong troops that survive.

Against the Battle Copter, place Air Bombs, Firecrackers and the Roaster where the Copter will be hovering while it attacks, not just near the edge. Its high health means a single anti-air defense takes a long time, so several in the same area work better.

With 24 defenses and a quota of 13 per stage, eleven or more defenses sit in stage two. Check that stage two has both ground and air coverage, since attackers can choose a different Hero and fresh reinforcements for it.

Common attack strategies at BH8

You still deploy one Hero at a time. Choose either the Battle Machine or the Battle Copter for stage one. If your stage-one Hero survives, you can keep using him in stage two with the health he has left, or switch to the other Hero at full health. If he falls, you must use the other one.

The Battle Copter has long range but low damage, so it works best as support: let it snipe buildings behind Baby Dragons, Drop Ships or Cannon Carts. Bomb Rush pulls it close to defenses, so save it for a moment when the heal matters or a group of buildings is clustered.

Power P.E.K.K.As are slow and hit hard, a good second wave behind Boxer Giants into a core with Crushers and Double Cannons. Night Witches and Drop Ships remain popular, and many players use one army type for stage one and a different reinforcement for stage two. Use the minute of planning before stage two to count its Air Bombs and Firecrackers; that count usually decides whether the Copter or the Battle Machine goes in.

Farming and resources at BH8

The Elixir Cart holds up to 1,200,000 Builder Elixir and the Builder Hall 1,300,000 of each resource. Battle Copter levels cost 2.6 to 3.5 million Builder Elixir each at this level, Battle Machine levels 3.1 to 3.5 million, so collect the Cart often and keep your defense giving up as few stars as possible.

Builder Gold grows with the stars you score and your league. Two Star Bonuses can stack and pay as soon as you reach the required stars, so plan sessions where you can finish both. The Clock Tower at level 8 gives 28 minute boosts, which matter more now that every upgrade takes days.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Expecting the Battle Copter to defend. Builder Base Heroes only attack.
  • Leaving the Mega Tesla alone at the edge where a swarm can take it down.
  • Using Bomb Rush as soon as the Copter lands, which puts it in range of every defense.
  • Upgrading only one Hero. Both levels count toward B.O.B Control at BH9.
  • Leaving the Multi Mortar low. It must reach level 8 before the Master Builder can gear up a Home Village Mortar, one of the B.O.B Control tasks.
  • Rushing to BH9 with an army that cannot clear stage one.
